We congratulate all the students who have participated in this year’s 14th Annual SUHSD Digital Media Showcase. Please enjoy the Digital Design, Photography and Video entries. Each of our SUHSD students created and persevered, working diligently with technology to submit stellar work. Meet Our 2023 Digital Media Showcase Judges

Assad Khalilzadeh
Assad Khalilzadeh is an Otay Ranch alum and proud former member of the KORtv program. He currently still resides in San Diego working professionally as a Photo-Journalist for FOX 5 San Diego. He's had the privilege to cover events like the Padres 2022 playoff run, events at Disneyland theme parks and the 2023 Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona.

Steve Stopper
Steve has had a long standing career as an Audio Video designer and installer. He has designed and installed more school-wide broadcast television studios in San Diego than anyone else. He also serves as a mentor and program adviser for local theatrical program entities. He holds an MATV certificate with the National System Contractors Association and was given the Community Service award from King Chavez Academy for helping develop their TV programs.

DIGITAL DESIGN
Almudena Pereda
Graduated from Engineering in Digital Graphic Design in 2022, while working in the Feature Animation industry since 2021 in the studio Mighty Animation, as a 3D Layout Artist, Animator, and Pipeline Support. After graduating, works in the Canada division of MPC VFX as a Layout Artist in films such as Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania and others to be released in 2024.

Lamia Khorshid
Lamia Khorshid is an Egyptian born artist, educated in the United States. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Miami, as well as a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in Art.
Lamia is an active exhibiting artist working in photography and video. She has exhibited in the U.S. and abroad. An international solo show of her work took place at Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy in 2013. She has participated in several annual fairs and group exhibitions, including the Institute of Contemporary Art San Diego, California Center for the Arts, Escondido, Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, Art Palm Beach, Art Miami, Art Basel Miami Beach, Museum of Art Ft. Lauderdale, New Orleans Photography Alliance, Lowe Art Museum, Photo Place Gallery Vermont, SPE San Francisco Conference, SPE New Orleans Conference, Miami Beach Cinematheque, the UM Project Space in Wynwood and the Miami Center for the Photographic Arts. She curated independent shows from 2006 – 2009. She lectured at the SPE Baltimore Conference in 2014, the Museum of Art Ft Lauderdale and at the Lowe Art Museum in Coral Gables in 2013, the Hawaii International Conference on Arts & Humanities in 2012, as well as Curator’s Voice Art Projects, and MIU in 2011. She has presented papers at the Florida Consortium of Women’s Studies Conference in Tampa in 2007, as well as at MOCA Goldman Warehouse that same year. She currently teaches Photography and Digital Imaging at Southwestern Community College and has previously taught at the University of Miami from 2007 – 2015. She previously taught a study abroad program at Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy during the summers. |
Carlo Fiorillo
Born and raised in San Diego, Carlo Fiorillo is a graduate of Otay Ranch High School, as well as SDSU's Film Program. Carlo has a successful photo and video production business, as well as being involved in sports. Most recently, he has started a free, monthly photo club open to anyone, regardless of experience, called "Any Camera Photo Club".
